Having had such a successful season in 2008/09, the achievements by the first team in 2009/10 were even more remarkable.
Having gained promotion as champions to the Central Midlands League Supreme Division, a season of consolidation could probably have been expected. However, The Gaffer and his players were having none of it, and went on the win the Supreme league by 8 points, losing just 3 league games in the process.
Clipstone were also defeated 2-1 in the final of the CMFL Floodlit Cup to give the team their second piece of silverware and but for some terrible fixture planning on behalf of the FA and the league, more silverware would surely have followed. Having reached the finals of both the CMFL Challenge Cup and the Lincolnshire FA Senior Trophy, the Club were dismayed to find that they were expected to play both finals within 26 hours of each other. Despite a valiant effort by the squad, both finals were lost having gone to extra time on both occasions, firstly going down to Newark Town on penalties after a thrilling 4-4 draw in the Challenge Cup and to an extra time goal (1-0) to Winterton at Glandford Park the following evening.
The First team also benefited from the newly formed Reserve team and having gained promotion for the second successive year, will be playing in the Northern Counties East League in the season 2010/11 season.
